An experienced finance executive, Mo Beler serves as senior managing director at Walker & Dunlop. Alongside his work, Mo Beler is a dedicated philanthropist who supports several organizations, including the Music Conservatory of Westchester. This organization facilitates various programs for people in need, including individuals who have returned from active duty military service.
Through the Healing Our Heroes program, the conservatory aims to ease the transition of veterans who are suffering from psychological or physical injuries, back into civilian life. The program focuses on music therapy and instruction designed to support veterans emotionally and psychologically. Ultimately, the teachers in the program hope to improve the lives of these veterans and their loved ones.
The conservatory has teamed with area veterans’ centers and VA hospitals to identify people who might benefit from the program. Music therapy can provide a new outlet for these veterans to explore their emotions while instruction enhances confidence. Learning to play music may also improve neurological function and offer some physical recovery to veterans.
